Adlink MXE-1500: Fanless Embedded Edge Computing - Maximum Performance in Minimum Amount of Space

Space-saving and fanless high-performance embedded edge computing with the MXE-1500 from Adlink, realized by Celeron Quad Core and many interfaces in the extended industrial temperature range.

Due to their compact size and fail-safe cooling technology, fanless Box PCs are used in a wide range of applications. High performance in the smallest of spaces is often required. The new series of extremely compact MXE-1500 Box PCs from Adlink offers a multitude of interfaces, three independent display outputs and space for a 2.5-inch SATA hard disk. With these features, the MXE-1500 is recommended as the basis for applications in industrial automation, machine control or image processing.

As a further development of the successful MXE-1300 series, the new MXE-1500 offers even more interfaces and greater flexibility in the same extremely compact housing. All models of the series are based on Celeron Quad Core N3160 CPUs up to 2.24 GHz or Dual Core N3060 CPUs up to 2.48 GHz. The box PCs are fanless and can be operated with a built-in SSD or CFast memory card in ambient temperatures from -20 to +70 °C. The box PCs can also be operated with a built-in SSD or CFast memory card. The interface equipment is opulent and includes 3 × Gigabit Ethernet, 6 serial interfaces or 4 serial interfaces and a display port, 2 × USB 3.0, 5 × USB 2.0 (of which 1 × internal), 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs each, 1 × Mini PCIe and a USIM slot for mobile communication. Microphone input and line output with optional amplifier 2 x 2 W (8 Ohm) round off the possibilities for use with imaging applications.

The housing measures 210 × 170 × 53 mm and weighs 1.5 kg. The supplied mounting bracket allows quick wall mounting. The compact housing can be equipped with a 2.5-inch hard disk (SSD/HDD) up to 2 TB. This means that sufficient on-site memory is also available for operations with high data volumes, for example in image processing. The main memory can be upgraded with energy-saving DDR3L memory chips up to 8 GB.

The manufacturer Adlink places particular emphasis on safety. TPM 2.0 (optional), WDC (Watchdog Counter) and the SEMA (Smart Embedded Management Agent) technology developed by Adlink are therefore integrated in Version 3.5 as security features.

With its comprehensive I/O options and support for 2.5-inch hard disks, the MXE-1500 series of compact industrial PCs represents an ideal and application-oriented platform for monitoring tasks, transportation and industrial automation.

The compact devices are prepared for mounting on DIN rails or on VESA-100 wall brackets. The operating systems Win10 IoT Enterprise CBB, Windows 7 Pro / WES7, Linux and on request QNX are supported.
